City Hall
Overview
The Chanhassen City Hall functions as a central hub for many of the city government's major functions, including serving as offices for many of its departments, including Administration, Building, Communications, Economic Development, Engineering, Finance, Parks & Recreation, Natural Resources, Planning, Public Safety and Surface Water Resources.
The new City Hall opened in 2025, replacing the 44-year-old facility just a few yards away. Designed to better serve residents, it offers modern amenities, energy efficiency and a welcoming atmosphere. Highlights include a glass-fronted lobby, a single service counter for streamlined access to services, and upgraded council chambers with improved seating, lighting and technology for more accessible public meetings.
The building provides open public areas, flexible spaces for events and day-to-day services, and thoughtful details that make it practical, accessible and community-focused. It’s not just a place to handle city business but a destination where residents can gather, connect and feel part of their city.
New features also reflect Chanhassen’s future and resident input: secure underground parking for police vehicles, wider hallways, accessible restrooms and durable materials chosen for both function and timeless design. City Hall is built to serve for decades to come as a landmark shaped by the voices of the community.
The City Council holds council work sessions in the building's Training Room and City Council meetings are held in the council chambers. Boards and Commissions also use the conference rooms and council chambers for their meetings.
A significant portion of the first floor of city hall is the Senior Center. For information about the Senior Center and its offerings, click here.
