Overview

When: Late November through early December 2026 (Dates TBA)
Where: Chanhassen Fire Station (8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday-Sunday), City Hall (during regular hours Monday-Friday) and the Chanhassen Recreation Center (during regular hours).

Every year, the Chanhassen Fire Department collects thousands of toys for children on behalf of Toys for Tots. Bring your donations to one of three city locations to make a child's holiday dreams come true.

In 2025, the Chanhassen Fire Department received 1,317 toys—1,000 fewer than the year before. However, Xfinity graciously donated $5,000, doubling the cash donations from 2024. Thank you to everyone who donated to make a child's holiday season extra special. Thank you to the residents of the Longacres neighborhood who helped collect 594 of those donations.

FAQs

Are there toys/gifts that are not accepted/distributed?
Toys for Tots will not accept:
- Realistic-looking weapons
- Clothes
- Food
- Used or open toys
- Liquid products (such as cologne, perfume, body wash, lotion, toothpaste etc.)
If you desire to donate these items, please find a charity in your local area that will accept them.
Is there a list of available toys to guide me with my donation?

Toys for Tots does not publish a list of appropriate toys to donate. If such a list were created, most would follow it, resulting in a limited selection of items to distribute in each community. We prefer our donors consider what is an appropriate gift for their child/relative, purchase the item, and donate to Toys for Tots.
What can I donate?
Store-bought gifts or donations only. You may only donate items with tags or original packaging. Realistic-looking weapons and food items are not accepted.

- Watch/wallet gift sets
- Bath gift sets

- Radio control (RC) cars/trucks

If you wish to donate financially instead of a packaged item, you can donate online here or send a check (see address below). If you are donating due to the Chanhassen Fire Department drive, please write that in the Organization box or check line.
