Overview

The Chanhassen Disc Golf Course is located at Bandimere Community Park (9405 Great Plains Boulevard) and is open during regular park hours: 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Tee times are not required, and play is at your leisure. There are no fees for using the disc golf course.

The course officially opened on June 5th, 2012, and features a practice basket and nine holes spread out over various topography, including hills, woods, and open fields. It is a recreational course with dual white (2400 feet) and red (1990 feet) tees tucked into the park alongside ball fields, wooded areas, and a walking trail. A small pond comes into play on holes 8 & 9.

Future improvements will include the installation of cement tee pads, additional seating, and landscaping.

History

Eagle Scout candidate Mark Nettesheim of Chanhassen and his volunteers contributed much of the work by assisting with brush clearing and installing the Mach 5 baskets and red and white tee locater plates. City parks crews provided additional labor and coordination required to open the course. Master Course Designer Chuck Kennedy, and his good friend Lyle Jensen, designed the course. Kennedy has designed or assisted in the design of over 100 public and private disc golf courses.
