Command Sergeant Major Trost
Trost is a St Paul native and graduated from Monroe High School in 1972. He joined the Army on November 23, 1973, as a medic and retired from active duty on November 30, 1999, as Command Sergeant Major at Reynolds Army Community Hospital (Ft. Sill, OK).
Sergeant Major Trost served in every leadership position during his military career, from assistant fire team leader to brigade level Command Sergeant Major. In these positions, he has also served as a drill sergeant twice, drill sergeant school instructor, and Army Medical department noncommissioned officer course instructor for both Basic and Advanced courses. He served four tours overseas, twice in South Korea and one in each Germany and Turkey. He served in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 9th Infantry Divisions, TRADOC, FORSCOM, INSCOM, and MEDCOM units. He was the co-Leadership award winner from the AMED Advance leadership course and on the Commandant’s List from the Army Sergeants Major Academy Non-Resident Course class 20. His military awards include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal 3rd award, Army Commendation Medal 7th award, Army Achievement Medal 3rd award, Army Good Conduct Medal 8th award, National Defense Medal 2nd award, Korean Defense Medal, and the Humanitarian Service Medal. He is a member of the Field Artillery Order of St Barbara and the Army Medical Department Order of Military Medical Merit.
After retirement from the Army, he served as a Call Center Manager for US Bank, a field agent for RS Eden, and a Wire Transfer Data Entry Specialist for US Bank. Bar and Hall Manager for the American Legion and Medical Supply Tech at the MPLS Veterans Hospital. His volunteer service includes being Chapter Chairman for the Pikes Peak Non-Commissioned Officers Association, American Legion Post 39 Bar Board Chairman, 2nd Vice Commander, and Commander twice, Finance Officer for the North St Paul Veterans Park Committee, Member of the American Legion Post 39 Honor Guard, and a member of the Ft Snelling Memorial Rifle Squad. Sergeant Major Trost is married to his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Kathy (Sizemore), for 45 years this October. They have two married adult children, Melissa (Tony) (born at Ft Carson, CO) and Matt (Laurel) (born at Ft Leonard-Wood, MO).
Richard (Dick) Middleton
Middleton graduated from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, with a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Computer Science and Statistics. He received his Distinguished Military Graduate Officer commission in the United States Army.
After receiving his commission, the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY, selected Dick as an instructor. His professional history includes Xerox Corporation, Operations Management in a Minneapolis manufacturing company, and business professor with the University of Northwestern, St. Paul.
Dick is retired and lives in Eden Prairie with his wife of 52 years, Cherie. They have a daughter, son-in-law, and grandson (the light of their lives). Dick is a member of American Legion Post #580 in Chanhassen, MN, and a member of the Fort Snelling Memorial Rifle Squad.
