Rec Center Gym
Overview
The Recreation Center gym is available for drop-in recreation, such as basketball or parent/tot time, at various times throughout the month. There's no need to preregister, just come when it's convenient for you.

Fees
- Residents: $4.00 or 1 punch on your Rec Center punch card
- Non-Residents: $4.50 or 1 punch on the Rec Center punch card
- Gym Rental: $50.00 per hour Chanhassen Residents/ $60.00 hour for non-residents

Open Gym Rules
Evening General Use & Access
(Monday - Friday, 6:00 p.m. - close; Saturday - Sunday, 5:00 p.m. - close)
- Age Policy: Youth under age 10 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- Parents or Guardians not participating in Open Gym do not need to pay. Not participating means not shooting, rebounding, coaching or otherwise being involved in activities on the court. Otherwise, spectators must pay daily fee and receive a wristband.

Parent Supervised Open Gym is defined as an adult age 21+ participating with a youth.

Court Conduct & Play
- Organized team practices are not allowed during open gym.
- No dunking, hanging on rims, or grabbing nets.
- No food, gum, or drinks (except water) allowed in the gym.
- Shirts, proper athletic attire, and non-marking shoes required.
- Music must be played through personal headphones only — no external speakers.
Behavior Expectations
- Respect staff, other players, and equipment.
- No profanity, arguing, or fighting — violators will be asked to leave.
- Unsportsmanlike behavior or refusal to follow staff directions may result in suspension of gym privileges.
- Once wristbands are claimed, gym entry is closed for the day.
- No loitering in hallways, entry areas, or outside the gym.
Facility & Safety
- All balls must stay in the gymnasium.
- Maximum Gym Capacity is 24 in the evening (see hours).
- No full-court games aside from times scheduled on gym calendar.
- Participants are responsible for personal belongings; the Recreation Center is not liable for lost or stolen items.
- Emergency exits must remain clear at all times.
Enforcement
- Recreation Center staff have full authority to:
- Limit play time for crowd control.
- Remove anyone violating rules or creating unsafe conditions.
- Suspend access for repeated violations.
