Overview

Changes are coming to Stone Creek Park! Every year, the Chanhassen Parks and Recreation Department selects a park playground for renovation. This ensures that the playgrounds are safe and updated.

If you are a resident of the Stone Creek neighborhood, we want your input! Vote for one of the four options for the new playground.

Project Timeline

On April 27, the Chanhassen City Council reviewed and discussed the 2026 Park Renovation Fund and what park projects they felt were important to prioritize with the $110,000 allocated budget. The council approved the Stone Creek Park Playground renovation. The current playground was installed in 1998 and is eligible for replacement based on the city’s replacement schedule.

The Stone Creek Park neighborhood was invited to an Open House scheduled for Tuesday, May 26. They also had the option to review and and vote to select their favorite concept provided by a variety of playground vendors. Four concept proposals were submitted and Northland Recreation concept was the clean favorite receiving more than 80% of the vote.

Following the open house, the city heard concerns from residents that the concept lacked play elements for younger children, particularly those under age 5. As a result, the city has asked Northland Recreation to develop additional concepts with a larger age range of play opportunities.

The neighborhood will be able to vote again on their preferred concept. The options will include the original concept and the new concepts. (See Layout Options Layout Voting at the bottom of the page)

Another open house is scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, 5:30 p.m., at Chanhassen City Hall. If you can't make it to the meeting and would like to vote on the new concept, images will be uploaded and available for viewing from June 18-23.
