Overview

A Comprehensive Plan is designed to serve as a guide for the local decision-making process. The cornerstone of such a comprehensive planning process is the development and adoption of goals and policies, which identify the desired qualities and overall vision for the future of the community. These goals and policies are based on the needs of the city along with the unique characteristics and values of the community.

The Comprehensive Plan is designed to be a flexible tool, which can be adapted to new policies to attain stated goals.

2050 Comprehensive Plan RFP 

The City of Chanhassen is seeking proposals from qualified consultants to assist with the preparation of its 2050 Comprehensive Plan Update. The updated Plan will be in conformance with the Metropolitan Council's Imagine 2050 plan and System Statements respective to the city.

• RFP Submittal Deadline: April 10, 2026, 4 p.m.
• Proposals shall be in PDF format and submitted electronically to EMaass@chanhassenmn.gov
• Questions regarding RFP Deadline: March 13, 2026
• No oral questions on the RFP will be accepted.
• Written responses to questions submitted will be posted by March 27, 2026.
