Overview

Planning and Zoning reviews development plans for consistency with land use and city regulations, as well as providing enforcement of Chapter 20, Zoning of the City Code. Statistical information, including demographics, building activity, projects, and land available for development, are maintained.

The department may conduct special studies on the zoning code or Comprehensive Plan.

Can I subdivide my property?

The answer to this question is dependent upon several elements, including zoning of the property; size of the parcel; availability of roads, sewer, and water; etc. Contact the Planning Department for information.
How is a setback measured?

A setback is generally measured from the structure to the property line. However, since property lines are typically not visible, it is best to contact the Planning Department for more information.
