The yard waste site at the Chanhassen Public Works Facility (7901 Park Place) is closed for the season. Please check back in spring of 2026 for schedule updates.

Yard Waste Site Rules

• Residents must check in at the Public Works office and show proof of residency prior to dumping yard waste.
• Staff need to be on site to collect payment in order to drop off yard waste. 
• Commercial haulers or commercial landscapers are not allowed access to the site, regardless of the address the material came from.
• We accept cash, check, or credit. Only exact cash or check is accepted.
• Yard Waste is only to be dumped in the indicated areas.

Acceptable Items

• Leaves
• Grass clippings
• Brush
• Wood of any diameter (no lumber)
• Paper yard waste bags
• Compostable bags

Unacceptable Items

• Plastic Bags
• Lumber (treated and untreated)
• Trash
• Sod
• Soil or dirt
• Twine & string
• Animal waste
• Fireplace or BBQ ashes
• Rock
• Metal

Cost for Residents

Fees are $1.00 per bag and $15.00 per truck/trailer load. Residents pay at the Public Works office before unloading.

Free Mulch Bin

Looking for some mulch? We have now installed a bin for free mulch near the yard waste dumping site. Mulch is self-serve. Please do not dump any yard waste in the mulch bin.
