Construction is now underway on the next phase of the Lake Ann Park Preserve Trail project and will continue throughout the summer.
This phase includes construction of the northern paved trail segment connecting Greenwood Shores to Lake Lucy, along with improvements to the Greenwood Shores parking lot. Work will include grading, trail base installation, paving and parking lot construction, with substantial completion expected by early September.
During construction, the Lake Ann Park Preserve trail corridor and surrounding work areas will be closed to the public for safety due to heavy equipment and active construction activity. Residents are asked to stay out of the work zone throughout the project.
Temporary access accommodations will be provided for Greenwood Shores residents during portions of the summer, including limited access to the swimming beach and a temporary connection into the main Lake Ann Park area. Access routes may shift at times as construction progresses.
While temporary closures and disruptions are expected, the project represents a long-term investment in the preserve, including a wider and more accessible trail experience, improved parking access and continued habitat restoration efforts.
Residents are encouraged to explore other parks and trails throughout Chanhassen while work is underway. The city appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation during construction.
