Post Date:07/29/2025 4:00 PM

July 2025 Drone Civic Campus
We’re excited to share the latest progress on the Chanhassen Civic Campus. Phase 1 of this project — which will include the new City Hall, Council Chambers and Senior Center — is set to be completed later this year.

What's Been Done Recently

Inside City Hall, it’s all about finishes! Ceilings and lights are being installed and bathroom tile work is nearly complete. Next up is the terrazzo tile in the main corridor. Countertops and casework are going in and the fireplace is ready to go. The Council Chambers now has its stonework and roofing in place and the signature curved ceiling is underway. Crews have also made big progress in the Senior Center, where the feature ceiling and final mechanical work are being wrapped up. Outside, the glass and metal panels are going in, including at the Council Chambers. The brick and stone have been washed on the east side and the concrete entrance to the parking garage is finished, complete with a snow-melt system. Over the next few weeks, residents will also notice the clock tower being installed and scaffolding going up to support that work. Solar panels will be installed in August and the city is preparing to pour concrete curbs and restore Market Boulevard.

What's Coming Up Next

Work is ramping up on Phase 2 of the project, which focuses on the outdoor spaces, including the new pavilion and park features. Site clearing is starting soon to make way for new sidewalks and green space. The parking lot north of City Hall is also being prepped for reconstruction.

Prepare for Phase 2

Phase 2 Fencing

Phase 2, which focuses on the outdoor spaces, including the new pavilion and park features, is getting underway and, as a result, you may notice new fencing and traffic flow changes around City Hall, especially on the building’s eastern side.

All entrances to City Hall remain open as usual and the northwest upper level and southwest lower level doors remain accessible for wheelchairs. However, there is no access to City Hall from the eastern roads (including Chan View Road) or walking paths. All vehicle and pedestrian traffic should enter from the west side of City Hall, off of Kerber Boulevard.

The upper parking lot directly east of City Hall is permanently closed (this area is noted in red in the below graphic). The lower lots (highlighted in orange) have already been closed to the public as crews continue work on the new City Hall, set to open later this year.

If you're planning a visit to City Hall, here are your best parking options:

• The west lot (noted in green in the graphic below) is open for library patrons, City Hall visitors, Fire and Law Enforcement vehicles and city-branded vehicles. Additional accessible parking spots have been made available here to accommodate the other lot closures.
• Additional parking is available in the parking garage just north of the Chanhassen Library (noted in blue below).
• Street parking is available along Kerber Boulevard to the west of City Hall.
If you would like assistance or help navigating the fencing during your visit, please call 952-227-1100.
We appreciate your patience as we move forward with this exciting next step in enhancing Chanhassen’s downtown.

Phase 2 Parking

Stay tuned for more updates as we move closer to opening day later this year. Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm as this exciting project comes to life.
